Lunch Lady and the Mutant Mathletes by Jarrett J Krosoczka

Watch out for the lunch lady, she has secret powers and dangerous kitchen tools!

Knopf Books for Young Readers sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published, so you can find a copy at your local bookstore.  This is #7 in the series, so there are more if punny, silly tales make your child laugh.

The lunch lady's three favorite students have been bad in school and are disciplined by being assigned to the school's math team.  They are due to compete against a team that has never lost the contest before.  They aren't enthused.  Who likes math?  Not me!

The math in this book is easy and fun to do because the graphic story reads like a comic book.  You get into the story and do the math without thinking about it (even if you hate it).

The lunch lady thinks something smells bad (and it's not her cooking).  Can she figure out why the other team ALWAYS wins?

Wait until she uncovers the secret and you see her solution:  It's eggciting!

Happy reading.
