Ms. Hansen writes a very suspenseful, tense story that keeps your attention from beginning to end. Rebecca Hales gets a text message that says: I’m going to make you wish you were dead. The worst part is that it says it's from Kyle, a boy who committed suicide in prison.
Rebecca's best friend is Ryan. He's now in Las Vegas going to school, but they still stay in contact. She can lean on him and depend on him. Unfortunately, he's being baited, too. His locker blows up and the cops are after him. He didn't do it, but who's going to believe him?
They both go on the run, trying to figure out what's going on. Rebecca tells him about that night six years ago when she saw Kyle rape a girl and kill her. She still has nightmares about it. Now someone is bringing it all up again.
There are moments of sorrow as well as the realization of unrecognized love in this story. It moves along well, makes you root for the two main characters and worry about their welfare. It's an interesting read. The original murder left a lot of psychological damage behind. Revenge can often sprout a murderer.
You won't be bored reading this story.
