This is a picture book that will amuse children.  It has ghosts in it!

The Skeleton Band is invited to the White House to play.  They go and are surprised by all the ghosts who live there.  They play but soon they are overwhelmed and make tracks...

There are dancers, even a couple of ghost snakes.

This would be a good read for Halloween!

This is police procedural with an odd killer.

Headline Accent and Net Galley let me read this book for review.  It will be published October 27th.

First a Judge dies.  He was at the bottom of stairs but it was still murder.  He was going to reveal the killer.

Then a young tennis champ is found in the sea.  Who is killing them?

The Anglian Detective Agency is hired to ferret the truth and find the killer.  It takes a lot of questions and searching before they have a suspect.

The killer has made up pipe bombs and is going to use them for revenge.

Will they figure it out before the killer's plan succeeds?

This is a police procedural that is full of death and some bad cops.

The story starts with a rookie cop.  He has the misfortune of finding dead people.  He's not supposed to investigate but he wants to.  The other cops aren't especially effective.

He ends up being demoted until he dropped to the Bone Detective.  But he still looks for clues.

When he thinks he's figured it out, he meets another cop who wants to know what he's found.  He tells him and finds himself in trouble.  The cop is a killer.

Will he manage to stay alive?

Silent Victim by Michael Wood


This is almost like a horror tale.  The killer goes after young women, rapes them and then cuts their throats.  But he leaves no evidence behind.

One of the cops got shot and is off duty but she is pursuing this case.  She feels sorry for the teenagers.

The one victim who survived can't talk.  She didn't see who attacked her.  But the cop is on his trail.

She taunts him and expects him to come after her.  He picks a new victim and she goes after him.

Will she get him or will he get her?

The illustrations in this book are lovely.  I always visited my library at home, so this book spoke to me.

But luckily a bear on a raft that she knows shows up.  They head out for the library even though it is night.  He shows her the books out behind the library in boxes.

An owl helps her find the right book, and she goes back and reads it to her friends...

This is  a fascinating mystery.  Retired cops are on the job because the cops on the force now don't want to investigate.  But the retired cops are in danger...

One of them goes missing and they are trying to find him.  His car is in the lagoon with a dead woman in it.  The current cops think he killed her...

Then another man goes missing.  It takes some good investigation to find out where they are.  And the killer is a real surprise.

It's a good mystery and the story is interesting.  Give it a try!

This is quite a tale.  Steve was told his little brother died but later in life he sees a picture of him grown.

This is a good book for children, the cat complains through the book about Christmas.

She starts out trying to find a coin that has been in several hands.  She finally locates it and finds out that it has it identified where money had been hidden.  The men who found it stole the money and spent it all.  The men who stashed the money thought she got it and are after her.

It's a good thing she has two boyfriends to protect her.  However it doesn't save her from trouble...

Evanovich's stories are never boring and have lots of action in them.  This was a good read as all of hers are.  I enjoyed it.

The Journey : Big Panda and Tiny Dragon by James Norbury


This is a great book for children.  It has several lessons in it.

The panda is big and the dragon is very tiny.  They are friends and travel together.  But when they try to cross the river on a raft, they get swept to sea.

The dragon has a fit but the panda is calm.  He explains they are on an adventure.  This doesn't make the dragon happy.

They travel together and have many new experiences.  The panda tries to tell the dragon why it's a good thing.

By the end of the book, the dragon begins to understand and decides he likes it.

Everyone had fun and chatted until the leader of the group was killed.  Misty wants to find out who did it.  There are a lot of suspects.  Everyone claimed to love her but someone must not have.

They find her off the road and it looks like someone knocked her and the bike down there.  Will she  be able to figure it out?  Who could have hated her enough to do that?

It starts with one murder but soon becomes three.  The cops jump into action but there are different jurisdictions and the chief is crabby.  Much of the story has the chief on her case...

It's  complex case with a lot of of snags and several false evidences.  But Amanda doesn't give up.

She knows the man in jail didn't do it and gets herself in trouble for snooping on a case that doesn't belong to her.

There is romance thrown in.  The murders make folks sad.  

Will they find out who the killer is?

This is a tale of murders and no real way to tie them together.

People answer their doors and then find themselves stabbed and dying.  There doesn't seem to be any association between them.  But the cops keep asking questions.

Soon they discover they all worked at a school at one time.  Then they find out a little boy ran out in the road for ice cream and got ran over and died.  But who wants revenge?

The killer is a mystery.  But the cops finally identify the person while they are trying to kill another...

I bet you can't guess who the killer is...

This is a magical tale of Russia.  It's fantasy and I enjoyed it!

This is an interesting tale that takes place over several years.  She is a witch (Baba Yaga) and cannot stand the death that the Tsar spreads across the land.

She is not interested in men but then she meets one that grabs her attention.  She even marries him.  Then she finds herself pregnant.

While this is going on, she also fighting with a woman who inspires warfare.  She is surprised when she finally recognizes her.  But she is determined to get rid of her.

Life is not easy in Russia and she will have to work with her daughter to win.

You won't be bored...
