Imagine a world with no emotions. There is order and things move along smoothly, everyone follows the rules. Sounds boring doesn't it?

One thing this story is NOT is boring. This is a controlled world. Everyone does their job and does not rock the boat. No one has any discomfort with this. They don't know that they are lacking a basic ingredient of living: emotions. A virus spread across the country and wiped out all natural emotions. These people are almost like robots.
The "keepers" are a secret society who remember how life was before the virus hit and they are waiting for the next Sovereign to be appointed. There is a young boy who should take that place, if they can keep him alive to do it.
I found it started a bit a slowly, but once Rom is handed the vial of blood, the pace picks up admirably. This is an action packed tale that doesn't slow down. It's the first book in a new series, so the story will continue.
The authors don't hesitate to snuff someone's life out. They also do a good job of showing how hard it is to adjust to awakening emotions that you have no experience in handling.
The line has been drawn in the sand. Now we just have to wait to see whether Order or Chaos wins the battle.
