The Pajama Frame: A Madison Night Mystery by Diane Vallere

She's established a business by buying retro clothing and furniture and decor and offering it to customers.  She'll even help them decorate.  When she finds a friend of hers left her an old pajama factory, she's overwhelmed.  She doesn't know what to do with it.  And she can't even get in it because it was the scene of a crime years ago and is still padlocked.  Even worse, there's lots of gossip about what happened all those years ago.  Is this a blessing or a curse?

Henery Press and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published tomorrow.

Madison is approached by protestors and the historical society when she goes to visit the property.  Then the cops show up.  Madison also has a conflict of interest with the cop.  They used to be enemies, now they are almost friends, and she's finding him attractive.  But her boyfriend is in California.  She's conflicted over that as well as the murder.

Two more people die in the present day before she works out who the killer is.  And when she does, she finds the killer in the same building she's in.  She can't hide.  Can she stay alive?

The story moves along well, the romance is interesting and I'm sure there will be more in this series.  It's a good cozy read.

Buyer, Beware: A Style & Error Mystery by Diane Vallere

Samantha is into fashion and had been a buyer for a very elite firm.  Despite doing an excellent job, her position is eliminated when the company downsizes.  That's no big deal; she can find another job.  Right now, she just wants to adjust and decide what to do next.

Polyester Press and Net Galley allowed me to download an ebook of this story for review (thank you).  It has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.

While Samantha is getting over the sting of her termination, the buyer at her competitor's shop is murdered!  When the owner offers her a job there to replace the murder woman, she's amazed at her luck.  It takes a bit before she realizes this new position might put her in a position to be killed herself.

This time she works with the police in an attempt to find a killer.  She misses her boyfriend who is in France and not there for moral support.  When she meets a new man who helps her get through her investigation, she's surprised at how he makes her feel.  I think James, who is also in the world of fashion, may lose out to Dante in the future.  It will be interesting to see which man wins her heart.  It will also be interesting to see what direction her career goes.  It appears being a buyer just isn't healthy for her...

Happy reading.
