Calvin Coconut Man Trip by Graham Salisbury

Here we go on another adventure with Calvin Coconut.  This time he's going fishing with Ledward, his Mom's boyfriend.  Deep sea fishing, that is!

Wendy Lamb Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  This book has been published and you can find a copy at your local bookstore.

Calvin lives in Hawaii and manages to have adventures all on his own.  For example, he's supposed to be mowing the lawn, but he hates to do it because of the toads sleeping in the mud below the grass.  If you don't want toad splatter, you have to move them.  Gross, but a fact of life in Hawaii.

When Ledward offers to take Calvin on a "man trip" and go fishing with a friend of his, Calvin is excited.  His first time on the plane and his first time at sea both makes it sound like big fun!

As always, Mr. Salisbury teaches Calvin a few lessons in this story.  Ms. Roger's illustrations are lovely and gives you the feel of the wind in your hair and the smell of the ocean.

There are several books in this series and this new story is a nice addition.  Why not check them out for your young reader?  There's action, challenges, and great fun to be had.

Happy reading.
