Junie B Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus by Barbara Park

This is the twentieth anniversary of the Junie B Jones series, and Junie hasn't lost her spunk!

Random House Books for Young Readers sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It was published April 24th, so you can grab a copy now.

Junie B does not want to go to school and she especially doesn't want to ride on the bus.  She manages to live through the ride to school, but still doesn't like it.  (She's a stubborn little thing, you know...)  When she hears the older students will pour chocolate milk on her head on the way home, that's it.  She's going to go hide and not ride the bus.  How much trouble can she get into while hiding at school?  A lot!

This is full-color edition is lovely.  Ms. Denise Brukus' illustrations look wonderful in color and bring Junie B to life.  There's also an interview with the author at the end of the book where Junie B herself asks her questions.  That's a fun touch to this anniversary issue.

Why not share the stories you read as a child with the little ones in your family?  You can both have fun reading them.

Happy reading.
