Teddy is happily married to Sheriff Joe now but she still can't keep her nose out of cases. When a very unlikable man turns up in the in the boat dock area dead, there are a lot of suspects. Even Teddy fought with him...
Poisoned Pen Press and Edelweiss allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It will be published March 3rd.
When Joe's mother starts acting weird , Teddy follows her to the Granny cottage she doesn't live in anymore and finds a big surprise. There is a young man there that looks just like Joe. It seems a one night stand at the prom has increased their family size...
Joe can't believe it but he hugs him and welcomes him. It's a shock to everyone when the boy is arrested for the murder. Joe has to give up the case. But his mother asks Teddy to investigate. She agrees but doesn't tell Joe. She knows what he would say.
She does background searches on the internet but the Grandma shows her a secret. She's found a site on the dark web that tells you every thing about everybody. She finds out not everyone is being truthful. As she conducts interviews her search is narrowing. Then another man in the community is found dead. That gives her another connection to the truth.
She's going to meet her husband on her boat for a night of fun and she plans to tell him then. But when she turns around to tell him hi, it's the killer with a weapon. There's not much room in a boat's cabin for a fight and no where to run. Will she overcome the killer or become the next victim?
