This is an exceptional story. It has the feel of a time gone before us and the message it sends is how important family and love is, even if it's not your natural family.
Blue never knew her mother or father either one. She had daydreams about her mother coming up the lane to the farm and taking her far away. She'd get new clothes, lots of candy, and wouldn't have to work as hard as she did on the farm. She kept watching for her, but she never showed up.
As she searches for answers she wonders if she will ever know the truth about her past. What she finds is that what is lost in the past is not as good or true as what she has in the present.
The story is simple, the emotions real, and I wish I could visit Hannah. This is very good story and I'll be thinking on it long after I set the book down.
