Ancient Fall Legend of Rhyme, Book 7 by Jaime Lee Mann

This story is intriguing because it has a message in it we should listen to.  The story is fantasy but the message is not.

Asher and Ariana are alone.  The land they wanted to go back to, Coraira, has died.  Now they are in a land of ice and snow.  As they find friends from the past, they stick together.  Even their enemies have changed.  They got help for their mental problems and now want to help not harm.

The earth is changing.  There are fires everywhere.  Even the oceans aren't safe.  As they talk about what to do, a plant covered giantess rises and she's Earth and she's at the point of destruction because humans have been misusing and abusing her for so long.

Can they figure out a way to save her and themselves?  Is everyone really friendly like they say?

This ties up a lot of loose ends from the prior books in this series.  It also hands the characters quite a task.  Will they succeed?

Blood and Stars: Legend of Rhyme Series Volume 1 Book 5 by Jaime Lee Mann

Ariana awakens at home but she finds her twin missing.  She really wants to find him but the queen of their land is in a coma and may not recover.  She's next in line for queen, so she has to stay home and out of trouble.  At least that was how it was supposed to work out...

This series is all fantasy.  There are sprites, fairies, mermaids, octopuses, and more mixed in the magical people's world.  

One mermaid is trying to contain a certain family so she can use their powers for her gain.  She's also insane which becomes apparent as the story goes along.

Elora, who was turned into stone, comes to life again when Ariana makes a wish.  She's asking them to trust her but she had turned into a dark one and betrayed them before.  Can they really trust her now?  She does save her sister, the queen.  Maybe they could trust her?

The frog is bartering for his human life.  The ice dragons are coming again.  Will Ariana's twin get to come home?  Who will be left alive at the end of this book?  Read it and see.  This writer's books get better the more she writes.  Give it a try.

Second Twin Legend of Rhyme Series Volume 1 Book 4 by Jaime Lee Mann

This is the fourth book in this series and it concerns the twins who have left their time period and found themselves in present time.  The problem is that it is no safer here than the world they left behind.

The twins aren't sure where they are and they only have a pixie along with them for guidance.  They are hiding in the woods because the cars seem like monsters to them and planes remind them of big birds.  They have the rotten luck to run into Elora.  It's before she was made wicked but they can't trust her.  It's very dangerous for those three to be hanging around together.  It brings the wicked to them.

I found this a bit hard to read.  You bounced between the present, the world they left and the past.  It made the story harder to follow.  You get the gist of the matter but you have to pay attention to what time period you're in.

Teagan has to make up her mind if she wishes to be a mermaid or not.  The mermaid she's talking to tells her she has great power if she agrees. The people who embrace the dark have found the twins and Elora.  The worst part is that an ally they had in the world of light has betrayed them. The toad is still trying to turn back into a man so he can reunite with his love the princess. 

This book takes them further along the path of their life but nothing is resolved yet.  I hope the next book takes care of some of these odds and ends.  This tale deals with good and evil.  I'm rooting for good! 

Teagan of Tomorrow: Legend of Rhyme Series Vol. 1 Book 3 by Jaime Lee Mann

The twins have been sent forward in time and suddenly find themselves in our present world.  They don't know what cars are or why people live in the sort of buildings they do.  They do, however, find the village they grew up in.  It's now a tourism site!

Teagan is an orphan living with foster parents.  When she gets sent out to buy more milk, she never makes it back home.  She notices a frog acting weird, follows him, and finds the pendant around her neck (a gift from her long gone parents) draws her into the pixie tree.  She goes right through and ends up in the world that the twins are trying to find again.

This series is light fantasy with a fight between good and evil.  The evil has been banished but is able to return again despite that.  It helps that the good people in the village are all asleep.  Teagan is trying to help awaken them.

Filled with pixies and fairies and even mermaids this tale keeps you reading.  Teagan's time travel pendant will work only so many times.  They want her to return to her world (where she was NOT living happily ever after) until the crisis is over.  But they can't guarantee she'll be able to return...

There is one more book to come in this series and there is still a lot to be done before the village will be safe again.  Teagan and the twins will have to hang in there. 

Into Coraira Legend of Rhyme Series Vol. 1 Book 2, by Jaime Lee Mann

Asher and Ariana are back together again.  They are twins that have magical powers and it's time for them to learn to use them.  Unfortunately, they don't get many lessons before danger arrives...

This is the second book in the Legend of Rhyme series; Ellora of Stone was the first.  After I read the first one I was watching to read the next one.  This one is good, too.

The adults are making sure that the portals are watched for intruders.  Warnings go through the kingdom that Asgall has returned.  He's pure evil and wants to get all his powers back and take over by killing all the magic but his.  Stopping him will be very hard, especially since he is in animal form now.

This is written for middle graders and has plenty of magic, adventure and a continuing fight of good against evil.  The books are short length and will keep the young ones attention all the way through.  When the twins get caught in the middle, I wasn't sure they'd survive.  That's what kept me reading.

I'm very interested in what will come in the final book.  You get a hint of what's next at the end of the story and I think it looks like fun.  Can the twins find their way home?  We'll just have to read that book to see. 

Elora of Stone Legend of Rhyme Series Vol. 1 Book 1 by Jaime Lee Mann

Ariana and her family were happy together and life was good.  When her twin, Asher, disappears into the woods and is never found again, the good life is gone too.  Sorrow invades the household...

Twins are cursed in this kingdom.  Every time they are born, one of them is spirited away in the night.  No matter how parents try to protect them, they disappear.  Since Asher was four, her parents had hoped they were safe.  No such thing.

As Ariana grows, she picks up on the legend of Elora of Stone.  She's taught that Elora is good and Larque is bad.  She also believes her brother is still alive.

This was an interesting fantasy read.  You learn what happened to all those children, that the legend as it's told might not be true and that Ariana and Asher have special gifts.  It's fast paced, entertaining and I found myself worrying about the two main characters.  This is the first book in a new series and does a nice job of enticing your interest in other issues than Asher's disappearance.  There will be more to tell in the next book.
