Oddly Normal Vol. 3 by Otis Frampton

Fignation isn't getting any better.  It's lucky that they have Frankie to do games because he loves them, is good at it, and his humpback brother can put him back together again.  Unfortunately, her instructor has designs on her and she doesn't want to do what he wants...

Image Comics let me read this comic collection for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can get a copy now.

This is fun series about a half-witch that doesn't fit in anywhere.  Not at home, not at Fignation.  She keeps on keeping on and trying to find her parents.

When a witch challenges her to a race, she doesn't want to do it but she gets shamed into it.  Her friend creates a power broom so she can compete.  The other witch cheats.  There are lots of monsters on the route.  And, at the end, no one wins.  Just like everything else in life, Oddly didn't do that right either.

She gets summoned by her teacher and takes her friends with her.  He has plans and she doesn't want any part of them.  He even devours her ghost friend.  She's stubborn though.  She goes home to go through the library again.  Why does her aunt tell her NEVER to do anything magical?  She can't anyway...

There will be more in this series.  I'll have to keep up and see just what does happen.

Oddly Normal Book 2 by Otis Frampton

Oddly Normal has a witch for an aunt.  She needs to have someone because she made a wish on her birthday and both her parents were taken away.  Now she's working on getting them back.

This series appeals to me.  There are "far out" characters, lots of magical happenings, and more.  Oddly is human looking except for her green hair.  She's the product of a witch mother and a human father.  Most of the kids don't like her but she does have some friends.  It's while she's visiting those friends she finds her own birthday gift (it's a bit strange) and has more adventures.

I can't wait to see where she goes next.  Right now she's waiting to see her friend Rocket Ball.  Looks like a rough game to me!

Oddly Normal Book 1 by Otis Frampton

Oddly Normal is half-witch.  She lives with her parents in a witchy-like house and goes to school with regular kids.  They bully her to death.  She's fed up with her life.

I was pleasantly surprised by this graphic novel.  I wasn't sure about a green haired kid with pointed ears but Mr. Frampton does a good job with his graphics and has an interesting story line.

We start out on earth, but it's Oddly's tenth birthday and when her folks call her in blow out the candles on her cake, she's mad.  It's always the same thing, none of the kid's will come to her party, her Mom and Dad are falsely excited, and it's just TOO MUCH!  She blows out her candles and wishes they'd just disappear.  Unfortunately, they do.  So does the house.

When her aunt shows up late, she's amazed.  All she can do is take her home to Fignation, the magical town her mother grew up in.  She's going to look for a solution.

My very favorite part of the story is when Oddly goes to school there.  The students are all kinds of monsters with defects and attitudes.  (I swear I recognized some of those kids...)  Even her teachers aren't normal.  She was hoping for a fresh start but all she gets is a new set of bullies.

I'll be watching for more in this series.  The stories are amusing, fun to read, and the graphics made me laugh.  And now I think a green haired girl with pointed ears is cool.
