Pages & Co.: The Bookwanderers by Anna James, Paola Escobar

Tilly's father died and her mother disappeared so she's living with her grandparents.  They own a huge bookshop and she has plenty to read.  She doesn't have many friends so she finds herself wishing she could visit with her book characters.  She likes both Anne of Green Gables and Alice in Wonderland.  (I'd leave Alice alone if it were me.)  Nothing surprises her more than when they turn up in the shop one day...

She enjoys visiting with both of them.  They can even take her into their story, which is really exciting.  She's noticed that both her grandparents have book character visits and she finds out it's a family trait.

She finds out the man who argued with her grandfather is part of the big library where all th souces books are protected.  They have the original editions with no changes.  But the man is mean and now he's after Tilly.  This makes things difficult because Tilly is looking for her mother.

This is a well thought out fantasy with lots of plot twists.  Will Tilly find her Mother?  Will the mean man go away?

It kept me reading and I enjoyed it a lot.
