Hungry Coyote by Cheryl Blackford, Laurie Caple (Illustrated by)
Coyotes are wild creatures that scavenge for food. The hungrier they get, the more desperate they become to catch something. This coyote is growing up by a lake and it's the story of him and his family going into winter.
Minnesota Historical Society and Edelweiss gave me the opportunity to read this picture book (thank you). It will be published May 1st.
The coyotes in this area eat voles, rabbits, and even people food they can steal.
Some people think they are bad animals but we're the ones that have encroached on their land and removed their food sources. I think we should cut them some slack. I also think that some land should be set aside for their kind so they don't have to be too close to us. We need space between us to exist peacefully. Try to remember they were here first...
