Simon's Cat vs. The World by Simon Tofield

I first found Simon's Cat on Twitter where someone posted one of his videos.  If you haven't met Simon's Cat yet, you're in for a real treat!

Akashic Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.  If you have any friends that love cats, this would make a great gift for them!

The very best part about Simon's Cat is that almost every one of the artists has a cat friend.  Each video or cartoon is EXACTLY like what a cat would do.  Even those that are tongue in cheek are great fun.  My favorite video is the one where his owner does not want to wake up to feed him.  He has a unique solution and manages to look so sweet and innocent at the end.  They do that!

This book is all about Simon's Cat day by day.  You get to see the things that go well and those that don't.  You can watch him interact with other animals and help Simon with his recreational needs.  Each page is a lovely colorful array of animals, plants and even Simon.  Page by page, I enjoyed everything in this book and it made me smile.  It's a keeper.  You'll want to get a copy for yourself so you can laugh at Simon's Cat, too.
