Dessa has finally discovered where her twin is located. She's going to rescue him if she can just find the island...
Kids Can Press and Net Galley allowed me to read this graphic novel for review (thank you). It's on sale now. There are four others in this series if you want to start from the beginning.
I leaped into the action with this fifth book and had great fun reading this graphic novel.
Pirates on the high sea, scoundrels on the ground, and Dessa makes enemies by the minute. Her two companions, Topper and Fisk, would follow her to hell and back. It gets almost that bad in this part of the series.
Dessa gets caught up with pirates and has to fight for her life. She's totally amazed when she realizes one of the pirate captains is female! She also knows her enemies follow her and are ahead of her, but she won't give up on getting her brother back.
Good action, great graphics, and fun all rolled into one. If you have a reluctant reader, they won't be once they start this series. I also bet they read it more than once. Why not give it try?
I'm Jo Ann Hakola, The Book Faerie, bookworm and bookseller. I have been selling books since January of 2000. It's a homebased business and I sell online only. Here is my website: http:www.bookfaerie.com I offer free shipping stateside. It's a one woman endeavor, and I love working for myself. I have over 6,000 books online now. I do book reviews from a reader's point-of-view and try to spread the magic of reading.
