Review Tour for Bird Brain Books by Emlyn Chand

The author and Goddess Fish Blog allowed me to read these ebooks for this blog tour (thank you).  You can purchase them on Amazon.

Each of these stories has a lesson built in.  They are written for young readers who are just progressing from easy reading.

Poppy is a pretty peacock and suffers from envy when an albino peacock is born.  He attempts to beautify himself and makes all the other animals laugh.

Honey wants to be a hero.  She's just a parrot but she can fly and has the heart for it.  So she dresses up and helps the animals, whether they need help or not.  It's only when she gives up that she actually gets to help someone.

Davey, the detective, is a crow who likes shiny things.  When he loses his latest treasure, he's sure someone has stolen it.  It's a good thing his Sherlock has a Watson to help him because she finds his paperclip in his nest...

Tommy, the woodpecker, wants to go trick or treating.  He takes his friend, a raccoon, and they figure out how to steal all the candy.  Unfortunately, you know how sick too much candy can make you.  They've learned their lesson; they share the candy.

And last, but not least, is the Christmas story about Courtney, a young penguin who has just received her first Christmas present.  She goes all the way to the North Pole to tell Santa thank you and finds it's Christmas again!  Not only that, she may be able to help Santa as a thank you...

These are pleasant stories that can lead to some good discussion about why the animals acted that way and what they learned from their experiences.  Why not share them with your young ones?

Emlyn will be awarding a $25 Amazon Gift Card to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour and a $25 Amazon GC to a randomly drawn host.

Follow the tour and comment; the more you comment, the better your chances of winning. The tour dates can be found here:

Happy reading!

I must say that I do like children's books that contain some sort of life lesson. This opens up the way for discussion too.

Thank you for the lovely book reviews, Jo Ann. I'm so glad you enjoyed the Bird Brains :-D

I've recently set-up a page on my website expressly for booksellers like yourself. I'd love to know what you think and if there's anything you'd like to see added.
