Blood, Ash, and Bone, A Tai Randolph Series by Tina Whittle

Tai is done with murder.  The last investigation she got caught in almost got her killed and she just wants to have a nice calm life.  Going to the Savannah Civil War Expo should be safe enough.  She also gets to take Trey with her and they might even find some personal time with each other.  What could go wrong?

Poisoned Pen Press and Net Galley let me read an ebook of this story for review (thank you).  The book will be published March 5th, so make a note to go pick it up then.

The first thing that goes wrong is that Tai's ex shows up and wants her to recover a bible with historical significance.  She doubts it's legitimate, but the fact that it just might be gives her an interest in it.  So does the reward promised.  Things are always cut throat with collectors, so she knows there will be danger.  She just doesn't know how much...

I really enjoy this series.  Tai is like a bolt of lightning. She's quick to act, a positive force with an impulsive side, and she has good intuition.  Trey is still recovering from brain damage and he likes everything very controlled and very safe.  Their relationship is good and they a lot care about each other but it reminds me of a boat on the water.  They hit waves of discontent and winds of disaster but they still "show up" for one another.  I find their relationship even more interesting than the murders.

Give her work a try.  I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Happy reading.
