The Hands of Tarot by S M Blooding

Here is your chance to enter a world of fantasy; a world where families are fighting to protect themselves from their enemies.  Even the families themselves aren't united.  Mixed marriages have divided mates and siblings both.  But the Hands of Tarot are such a threat, things must change...

The author and Goddess Fish Blog gave me a copy of this ebook to read for review (thank you).  You can find a copy on Amazon now.

Synn lives with his father on their airboat and loves the wind and the view from the air.  His mother lives in a city surrounded by an odd animal that protects them.  It's like living within a sea animal; it has tentacles.  Synn doesn't mind visiting, but he has no desire to live there.

War is coming to these peaceful people and they don't want to fight back.  When Synn and his father go to parlay with the enemy under a flag of truce, they are both set on fire.  Synn's mark comes to life and he survives the fire, but his father does not.  Queen Nix is the one who killed his father, and she takes Synn captive.  She attempts to brainwash him and she plans to keep him as her boy toy.  This is just the beginning of this story...

There is a touch of steampunk in the story.  I found the relationships between the families more interesting.  Their marks bring them powers and they're all different. They seem to be emotionally contained, but they have deep feelings.  Life is not easy for them but they are willing to sacrifice to keep their families safe.  It's an intriguing premise.

This is also just the first book in a series so you'll have more opportunity to watch these families grow and evolve in this fantasy world.

The author will be awarding a Tarot Doll of their choice to a randomly drawn commenter (US/Canada Only) during the tour More information: http://www.smblooding.com/ht1-order-tarot-doll-autographed-book/ and a full set of Tarot dolls to one randomly drawn host.
