Stick Dog by Tom Watson

This is a fun book to share with little ones.  The artwork in it will resemble theirs, the story is silly and the dogs are doggy.  It will draw them in and probably have them coming up with ideas for Stick and friends.

Harper Collins and Edelweiss shared this ebook with me for review (thank you).  The book will be published on January 8th, so be sure to watch for it.

Stick can smell hamburger cooking and he really wants to have a good meal.  Homeless dogs eat scraps and the hamburger smells heavenly to him.  He rounds up his friends and goes on a quest to steal hamburgers at the park.

It's not as easy as it sounds.  The poodle gets distracted and tries to catch a squirrel.  The other dogs wander off here and there, but he finally gets them all to the park.  Then they have to have a "plan".  How can they steal the hamburgers without getting hurt or getting caught?  The ideas they come up will make you laugh!  Stick is quite diplomatic in refusing them without anyone losing any face.

This is the kind of story that children can really get into.  It's silly, has a good ending, and they'll be ready to read more of Stick Dog's adventures, I'm sure.

Happy reading.
