Sophie is working at the hotel as an intern. Their biggest event is coming: The New Year's Eve Ball. Everyone from all over the world comes for this legendary ball. Two brothers own the hotel and the crabbiest one is her boss. He mostly ignores her, which is fine with her.
Henry Holt and Company Books for Young Readers and Edelweiss gave me the opportunity to read this book for review (thank you). It will be published January 28th.
When some rich Russians show up they are given the suite they reserved. It's a husband and wife with a four year old daughter. It doesn't take long for the staff to discover they are travelling under a false name. She has a very expensive necklace she plans to wear at the ball.
There is a lot going on that no one is aware of. This isn't the only couple travelling with a false name. The man with a gun she thought was the Russian couple's bodyguard is not. The brothers are thinking of selling the hotel that has been in their family for generations to a developer. He'd add more rooms, create a golf course, and make more improvements which means the hotel would never be the same.
Besides worrying about that, Sophie has two young men flirting with her. She really likes Ben but Tristan is exciting and even more handsome. But Tristan isn't what he appears to be either...
With two groups going after the necklace and Sophie babysitting the four year old, things get real exciting on the night of the ball.
I really liked the ending of this story. It's really happy ever after except for the thieves.
