The Castle Crime by Ron Roy

The A to Z Mystery kids are back again!  This time Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are going to London.  They might even get to see the queen!

Random House Children's Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  The book has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.  This is the sixth book in the series so you might want to pick up the earlier stories, too.

The stories are written for ages 6-9 and I would have loved to have read them at that age.  There's a bit of London history in the book, an interesting mystery and some good detective work to bring it all together as a good read.

The queen stops to talk to her grandsons and disguised thieves steal her diamonds.  The kids are ready to start on the case immediately and go to the castle to check for clues.  Imagine how they feel when dogs show up to visit and bring the queen with them!  Talking to her gives them another clue or two.

When they have the thought about hiding things in plain sight, they think they know where the jewels are.  But can they find proof of the crime?

I enjoyed the mystery, the bits of history, and watching the kid's thought processes.  They got off track a few times but then they'd get back on the trail.

Ready for a little mystery?  Here's a good series for your young ones.
