Can You See a Chimpanzee? Tish Rabe

This is a book from the Cat in the Hat's Learning Library that is all about Primates.  I've visited zoos, saw the chimpanzees up close at Central Washington University and more.  I still learned some terms when reading this book.

Random House Children's Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published, so visit your local bookstore and see what others in this learning library might appeal to you as well.

I didn't know there were prosimians.  I knew them by their given name but thought they were all part of the monkey family.  Wrong...

Something I knew but never realized is that monkeys have tails and apes don't.  And there are a lot of other terms included in the book.  The words are explained and their pronunciation shows, too.  The illustrations by Aristides Ruiz and Joe Mathieu and the text by Ms. Rabe make these sound just like the original Cat in the Hat.  This is a lovely new edition that makes learning fun.

If you're on a tour with the Cat in the Hat and his young friends, you don't even realize you're learning.  Why not read this book and then visit your local zoo and meet several of those animals you've read about?  It's easy to learn if it's fun.

Happy reading.
