The Flying Beaver Brothers and the Evil Penguin Plan by Maxwell Eaton III

Ace and Bub are two beavers living on Beaver Island (appropriately named, isn't it?).  The fun part about this book is that it is in graphic form; it makes it quick to read.  What will the brothers do when the evil penguins try to convert their island into a polar-themed resort?

Random House Kids Books sent me a copy of this book to read (thank you).  It has been published and is a Junior Library Guild Selection.  Why not pick up a copy at your local bookstore for your young reader?

Ace and Bub's first problem is that they argue over whether the enemy is penguins or puffins.  Sound like typical siblings, don't they?  The next problem is to decide what they might be able to do to stop them.

The story starts as the penguins steal Ace's surfboard.  He's going to compete in a contest to prove who's the best and tries to retrieve it.  These beavers are not the most coordinated or smartest guys, but they try hard and do what they can to save both Ace's surfboard and their island.

Young ones will enjoy their antics and the "comic book" look makes it easy to read.

Happy reading.
