Dancing with the Velvet Lizard by Bruce Golden

This is a very entertaining group of science fiction/fantasy stories.  Some of them bite, some make you laugh, some are so far out they're fun to read, and none of them will bore you.

Zumaya Otherworlds sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published, so check with your local bookstore to get a copy.  You can get a copy in trade paperback or ebook form, your choice.

Mr. Golden writes intriguing stories.  A Native American shaman sends the government a bill for making it rain.  There are lust potions, a missing planet, the horrors of withering and much more.  There are 33 stories in this anthology.
What I especially liked about this author's stories is that they make you think.  My favorite stories all that element in them.

A sample of what I liked:

The Color of Silence:  We don't all have to be "normal", do we?

Common Time:  Even when war is around them, enemy soldiers can find something in common.

The Birthday Gift:  Maybe others didn't see it, but Matthew and Grandpa did.

I also enjoyed the stories about cats that were almost human.  They had their own societies and rules that they followed.  It's fantasy, but it was good fantasy.

All in all, I was impressed with this selection of stories.  Mr. Golden tells you where they submitted and if they were published.  Me, I'm going to keep my copy of this book.  The stories are good enough I'll pick it up and read it again later.

Maybe you should taste it and see if it's what you like.  You wouldn't want to miss it...

Happy reading.
