Penne Dreadful by Catherine Bruns

Tessa is still grieving her husband's death.  He died in a car accident. When her cop cousin tells her his car had been tampered with, her grief turns to anger.  The cops aren't having luck finding the killer, so she's going to see what she can find out...

Poisoned Pen Press and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published July 30th.

She starts her investigation by going to work at a pizza shop he did the books for and hung out a lot.  There's no end of suspects there.  She finds some illegal drugs by accident but by the time she goes back for them, they are gone.

As she gets closer to the truth, she gets fired.  She decides to go back and snoop after hours with her girl cousin.  Instead they are kidnapped and almost die.

I was very surprised by the killer.  You just never know...
