She's been banished from the Fae world by her stepmother after her father's death. It's not fair but it's a rule she can enforce. The stepmother even has her old boyfriend escort her out of faerieland. She has a mean streak and likes to bury the knife deep.
The author and Goddess Fish Blog Tours gave me the opportunity to read this book for review (thank you). You can grab a copy now.
The first thing that happens is Ember discovers her magic is gone and she has to hide her ears. Then she happens upon an alley fight and defends the underdog. When he's safe, she plans to move on. But he follows her. He follows her through the whole story...
Even though her stepmother has thrown her out of the faerie kingdom, she has Ember followed. She'd prefer to see her dead. All she does is make Ember mad.
When Ember and Reilly join a group of traveling faeries and develop their own talents to make an act to make some money. There's a really interesting twist in the tale at this point that adds some romantic conflict to the story.
There's lots of action, Ember learns to trust again, and it has an exciting ending. I enjoyed this read. It was a very good fantasy tale. Read it and see what you think.
