The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates #1: Magic Marks the Spot by Caroline Carlson

Hilary Westfield is bound and determined to be a pirate.  She doesn't care that her father, the Admiral, hates pirates and won't let her join the pirate group.  She'll do it on her own...

Harper Collins and Edelweiss allowed me to read this ebook for review.  It will be published on September 10th, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.

This is a fast paced swashbuckling tale of pirates going after a treasure.  It's also a whole lot of fun to read.

Hilary is mortified when she finds out the pirate association won't accept her because she's female.  She's even more down when they tell her father and he decides to send her to Miss Pimm's Finishing School for Delicate Ladies.  I mean, come on.  She's no delicate lady.  She can tie knots better than any sailor, can tread water for 37 minutes, and has a gargoyle friend.  Where's the delicate in that???

I really enjoyed this read.  It's a rousting tale with treachery everywhere and the evil pirate that Hillary connects with isn't really.  She also ends up with her governess going along on the journey.  It's silly, fun, and an overall good read.  I highly recommend this one!

Happy reading.
