Ever since she can remember, stone statues have talked to her. Of course, everyone else just thinks she's mental...
Carina Press published this story in December in MobiPocket Reader and Adobe Reader ebook forms. I got my copy for review from Net Galley (thank you both).
Delia knows she's a witch, but her mother had no powers. She and her father are estranged and she runs her own little shop in another town. But then the Stewart house catches fire and her father is badly burned. She is forced to return home, but she doesn't have to pretend to like it.
Two things happen upon her return. She meets her childhood crush again and he offers to buy the house since her father will require long-term therapy and healthcare. And she meets a long lost cousin named Cecily, who has some secrets of her own.
The author's use of paranormal character features makes this story even more interesting. There's good sexual banter between the two main characters and the cousin is evil and after what Delia possesses. It's a fast paced story and could go either way, so you'll keep your eyes following the story eagerly.
It's a very enjoyable read. Get yourself a copy and see what you think.
Happy reading!
