Even if the young adult in your family is not fond of reading, this one should lead he/she into it.
Fantasic illustrations, strange characters, amnesia, fines from the cops for everything - what's the story and how is it going to turn out????
She wears Goth clothes, doesn't even know who she is or how she got here or why the cats like her, but she's on a mission. To do what, she knows not.
This town is not like the one you live in. Nor are the people like anyone you know.
A great "odd" adventure that should draw children to read it because it's fast paced, well illustrated and entertaining!

Alexandra, my ten year old daughter has just taken up the hobby of reading EVERYTHING she can get her hands on. I try to steer her toward Wizard Of OZ and The Phantom Tollbooth and Trixie Belden books, I loved as a child. She likes cats, dragons, drawing/watercoloring illustrating her own stories.
