The Paradise Affair by Bill Pronzini

Quincannon is after two con men that stole money, stocks and more from a new client.  When he finds they are on their way to Hawaii he begins to lose his enthusiasm.  Sabina thinks it's great, they can have a second honeymoon and catch the crooks, too.  She figures how they can go and arranges passage.

Forge Books and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published on January 26th.

The worst part for Quincannon is the boat ride.  He was sick almost all the way there.  Sabina meets a lady that she gets along with well, and they offer them a place to stay for free.  They accept.

He goes to find another private detective and asks him to find the con men,  He finds where they had been staying but the con men were gone now.  One was dead.  The other went to the big island.  He's going to follow him but he leaves Sabina there.  She enjoys visiting the tourist spots, but soon she has her own mystery to solve.

They both have adventures and some danger but they accomplish what they went there to do.

Mr. Pronzini always writes good mysteries and I enjoyed reading another.  Nice job, Bill.
