The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

Jess lost her job and is on her way to meet her brother, Ben, and stay with him for a while.  He's in Paris and she hasn't been there.  But when she arrives, he's not there.  He said he would be...

William Morrow sent me an ARC to read and review (thank you).  It has been published so you can get a copy now.

Jess stays in his apartment and asks questions of the other tenants.  Nobody seemed to like him much.

Each chapter is named for the person who is the subject matter.  Most of the chapters are short.

She knows someone came in while he was talking to her.  The author lets you know that he was attacked and is probably dead.

Jess tries to find him and the others aren't helping.  There are lots of characters that have their own ideas.

It's a scary read with several threats and the ending is a surprise.  It was an interesting read.
