A Pain in the Tuchis: A Mrs. Kaplan Mystery by Mark Reutlinger

Vera was getting better.  Why did she die so suddenly?  Was it murder?

Alibi and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review.  It will be published November 17th.  This is a fun series to read and I'm glad I found another one to read.

Mrs. Kaplan thinks she's Sherlock Holmes.  Ida is not quite as smart but she hears or sees things Rose sometimes misses so they make a great team.  When Rose hears that Vera thought she was being poisoned, she thinks someone should check.  They do.  They also find that she was given a pill that conflicted with the ones she took regularly.  Who could have done that? Vera had money.  Maybe one of the people inheriting was involved.  Here goes the team trying to dig down into the truth.

This story is full tales of old folks and their antics.  Everybody has their own idiosyncrasy, there's no way to keep a secret in a nursing home, and some folks can get in the way when they aren't even trying.  I enjoy these tales and was glad to see Rose and Ida get to the bottom of the case.  They may not be on the police force but they are a good team of investigators.
