The Search by Shelley Shepard Gray

Mose and Luke are still looking for Perry's killer but not finding much.  What Luke does find bothers him...

Avon Inspire and Edelweiss allowed me to read an ebook of this story.  It's Book #2 in the Secrets of Crittenden County series.  The book has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.

I enjoyed the first story in this series, "Missing".  You can see my review here:  Missing. This story is even better.

Luke is still trying to solve Perry's murder case, but it's going very slowly.  He's used to the fast pace of the city and solving crimes faster, but this Amish community is tight knit, doesn't talk to strangers, doesn't spread gossip, and is pretty quiet and calm.  The funny part is that he is beginning to enjoy that.  The even stranger part is that he finds himself drawn to Perry's girlfriend, Franny.

The author does a nice job of depicting Amish family life and the decisions young adult's face as they come of age.  She also shows how the Englischers impact the community as they visit and interact with the local young people.

I'm not sure if Luke is ever going to solve this murder (just joking), but I do know that Luke is going to lose his heart.

Ms. Gray has introduced two more characters in this book that have feelings for each other, and I'm sure they'll be in the next book, too.

I'm looking forward to next book.  If you like Amish mysteries, these are very good reads.  Why not catch up on this series like I did?

Happy reading.
