Rescue by Matthew Reinhart

This book has big pop-ups!  What a great way to teach young ones about rescue vehicles.

The book is a Robin Corey imprint shared with me by Random House (thank you).  It's currently available at your local bookstore.

I'm used to small pop-ups so this book was a pleasant surprise.  The popups are multifaceted.  Some have tabs to open and some have multiple layers.  They will surprise and astonish their reader.

I'd suggest you use this book for read aloud.  The illustrations will excite the listeners and you can supervise their activities with the pop-ups.  The book is built well, but little hands can be a bit aggressive.

My favorite pop-up is the fire truck, which has an extension ladder that pops into place last.  It's impressive!

This book would work well for teachers.  Use this book as a spring board into learning more about the various emergency services highlighted in the book.  Make learning fun and they'll enjoy reading about it.

Happy reading.
