Red Wolf by Liza Marklund

How well do you know your friends?  Are they really who you think they are?

Atria Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  I always enjoy reading mysteries from other countries.  Their thought process and the way they do things is dramatically different than ours.  This book is available for sale now.

The story in set in Scandinavia and begins with a curious reporter.  Annika wants to visit with a journalist who wrote about a terrorist attack years ago.  When she finds out he's recently died, she wonders if his death was an accident or murder.  A young man admits he saw the accident and it was murder.  But he's killed before he can talk to the police.

Annika is only a journalist and shouldn't be involved in a murder investigation.  She suspicions his death is related to the airport terrorist attack.  She is given specific instructions to stay away from the case by her boss.  But she doesn't listen.

While Annika keeps snooping, her best girlfriend finds herself losing her husband to another woman, her own husband is having an affair, and the murderer is trying to kill her.  Her life is very busy and very traumatic.

Ms. Marklund writes a very vivid, very detailed story that twists and turns until the end.  There is intrigue, blackmail, marital rife and murder through out the story.  It will keep your attention and you will wonder just how it's all going to turn out.  The author ends it well; she has a devious mind.

Happy reading.
