Max and his Uncle Larry have a new case. Trying to do detective work with a ghost can be difficult, but Max does his best.
Kids Can Press and Net Galley allowed me to download and read this book for review (thank you). It has been published, so you can buy a copy now.
These are written for younger readers and have good craziness in them. Uncle Larry keeps trying to eat or drink things during their investigation and Max has to cover for him. Uncle Larry was originally named the Bumbling Detective so you can guess how good he is at it...
In this case, a super large zucchini is missing. The Zamboni sisters were raising it for the Harvest Fest. They've won every year and want to keep their record. Unfortunately, someone took it!
You have the neighbor who is mad because the zucchini leaves keep his prize tomatoes from growing. Then there's a Harvest Fest competitor. And, last, but not least, the woman across the street is trying to win zucchini bread contest to supply bakeries. She'll need a lot of zucchini for that.
Max works hard to reason it out and does a good job. Anyone of them could have done it. See if your child can pick out the thief before they read the ending, just for fun.
This is easy to read, makes you smile and Max wins again. I like this series.
