Wendell is not popular in school and gets bullied. His stepfather lives for his motorcycle and keeps it in pristine condition. Wendell can't even change the oil right. So why does he visit the old abandoned Renaissance fair site?
Diamond Book Distributors and Net Galley allowed me to download a copy of this ebook for review (thank you). The book has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.
When the school bullies find him in the woods, they dare him to visit the Renaissance fair and bring back brochures to prove he's been there. He's finally mad enough about life to do it. His stepdad yelled at him, the bullies won't give up, what does he have to lose?
Imagine his surprise when he gets braced by a knight who lives in a barn there. Wendell is on his way to a great adventure without even knowing why.
The graphics in this novel are vividly colorful and offer great enjoyment for your eyes. The storyline is done well and Wendell and his stepdad both grow up a little bit before it's done. There's even a dragon to be fought. Whether your dragons are internal or external, I think you'll like this story. It's easy to read in graphic novel form and I enjoyed it.
Happy reading.
