14 by Peter Clines

Any time something is too good to be true, it probably isn't.  Nate's roommates are moving out and he's looking for a new apartment.  When he stumbles across one at really, really good price, he can't believe his luck.  It's not luck though; it's fate.

Permuted Press and Net Galley allowed me to read an ebook of this story for review (thank you).  It has just been published and you can pick up a copy now at your local bookstore.

This is an extremely fantastic story that has a bit of the flavor of H G Wells' work.  This would be an ideal story for young adults that love science fiction/fantasy tales.  I found it enjoyable to read myself.

Mr. Clines gives you mutant cockroaches, apartments of all different sizes and configurations, rooms blocked off and forbidden, and several very curious tenants.  The monsters in this story are not tame and one of those locked rooms hides a black hole.  Things are not what they seem.

It's an action-packed tale that amuses and confounds you both.  I'm pretty sure it's not a story you will put down and forget about.  It'll keep creeping back into your mind even after you've closed the book.

Happy reading.
