This is a very sweet story for early readers. Meg is a fearful chick who thinks every noise she hears means danger. She can't sleep well. She doesn't want to come out of her shell. But when the fox "Howl" steals her Mom for a snack, she watches the other chicks hide in terror and decides she must rescue her!
How a little chick in an egg can do that is a fun thing to see and I liked the twist at the end when "Howl" decides to write chickens off his food list.
Your little ones will be rooting for Meg, I'm sure. It's a fun tale with a happy ending. This story would work well for story telling in a group, also. Why not share Meg's tale with another timid child and see how they can shine, too?

And with Easter just around the corner this would be an excellent non-chocolate treat for any young one's basket. Sounds like a cute story!
