The Coyote Tracker by Larry D Sweazy

Josiah is surprised when Juan appears on his doorstep.  He's even more surprised to learn that Scrap Elliot is in town, is in jail, and is accused of murdering a prostitute.

The author sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  I was pleased to get it.  This is third western I've read about Josiah Wolfe and I enjoyed the first two.  I was looking forward to reading this one, too.  It has been published.  Check with your local bookstore or pick a copy up on Amazon now.

Josiah is in Austin with his son and the Mexican lady who cares for him.  Josiah is sparking with Pearl and hopes he'll be able to marry her one day soon.  He's been accepted back into the Rangers and will be on the road in two days.  He sure didn't need to find out that Scrap was in trouble.  No one would help Scrap if he didn't.  But what could he do in two days?

This is a much more complex story than you'd expect.  The prostitute's murder is just the tip of the iceberg.

What I like about Mr. Sweazy's writing is that he makes you care about his characters.  They all have human shortcomings and life is not easy for any of them.  Josiah's life is hard and nothing has worked out like he planned since I've met him.  He's a strong character that believes in doing the right thing and still has hope for love.  I really enjoy watching Mr. Sweazy's characters grow and watching their progress in life in the stories.  This was a very good read, also.

I'm hoping to see more of Josiah and the folks that people these stories.  They're like old friends now.

Happy reading.

Sounds like an interesting read, and I do enjoy characters that are truly human. Thanks for the heads up on this.
