Vicki's Key by P M Terrell

Vicki's life is full of secrets and now she's in a predicament where she knows not who she can trust.  Is anyone what they seem?

The author and Goddess Fish Blog shared a copy of this ebook for me to review (thank you).  Drake Valley Press has published it and it's available in ebook and trade paperback form.

I found this to be a very interesting story.  It's part paranormal but the real story line is in Vicki's relationships with her boss and with the man she's falling in love with.

Vicki has a special skill:  she can travel to locations in psychic form and observe the area and the people there.  She is employed by the CIA and has been going after the bad guys for years.  But when she's in the Amazon area and finds out that a school full of children is destroyed along with the bad guys, she has an emotional breakdown. She decides to start a new life away from the CIA.  Unfortunately, the CIA doesn't see it that way and her old boss shows up on her doorstep again.

Dylan is the nephew of the lady she's now working for and she finds herself being very attracted to him.  He's not what he seems either.  I began to wonder if both Sam and Dylan were playing her for their own reasons.

Vicki is an orphan that was adopted at age 12 by Sam, her boss.  He chose her because she foresaw her parent's death from an airplane crash.  He always planned on using her abilities for the CIA services.  She knows that.  But when she founds out there is other trouble above Sam, she's not sure if he's involved in that or clueless.  She has to walk a thin line between how much to trust him and how much to tell him.

With secrets at work and secrets at home, life becomes even more challenging for Vicki.  Life has never been easy but now it's becoming dangerous...

I enjoyed this read.  The psychological games being played are mind-bending and it looks like there is no way out for Vicki.  I can tell there is also going be a sequel to this book and I'm glad.  I'd like to read about the further adventures of this gutty woman.

Happy reading.

Jo Ann, thank you so much for taking the time to read Vicki's Key. The sequel, Secrets of a Dangerous Woman, is being released in eBook this week and the trade paperback will be released in September. I'm working on Dylan's Song now, which takes place in Ireland. I'm thoroughly enjoying writing this series and I appreciate your review.
