Porcupine is going down to the creek to wash her cranberries for the pie she's making for a party. On the way, she visits with her neighbors.
PR by the Book and the author shared this book with me for a review (thank you). It has just been published and you can buy a copy now.
Ms. Poh's illustrations are whimsical and cute and add to the tales charm. This is a lovely book for sharing for Thanksgiving with little ones.
Each neighbor says they can't make their traditional dishes because they are lacking an ingredient. She tells them all to go what they need from her pantry. I was afraid she'd end with nothing to make her pie but no. What happened was she lost her cranberries!
She's still debating over what she might make when the friends show up with their baked goods. They also bring her bits and pieces of various ingredients so that she can put them together in a pie. So she makes a friendship pie instead of cranberry. And it tastes good, too!
There's a recipe for the friendship pie at the back of the book. What more could you want?
