Dig Your Grave by Steven Cooper

Someone is killing people and making them dig their own graves first.  The signs left are cryptic and indicate there will be more deaths.  There is no reason apparent for why they would they would be killed...

Seventh Street Books sent me an ARC of this book to read for review (thank you).  It will be published October 30th.

When the next victim shows up, they try to tie the two men together.  They find they were students at the same university and they hung together in spring breaks and the like.  That doesn't mean they need to die.

Alex asks Gus to help.  Gus has visions but he doesn't always understand them.  He helps as much as he can, but the Spanish music he hears and the woman he sees falling don't make much sense at the moment.

Not only that:  Gus is being stalked by a rabid fan of his girlfriend.  Trying to solve a crime is hard to do when you have somebody after you.

In the meantime, Alex is trying to talk to a senator who might be the next victim.  The senator won't speak to him.  However, he changes his mind when he gets face-to-face with the killer.  That's where Alex finds the reason for the deaths...
