The Geek's Guide to Dating by Eric Smith

Here's a unique approach to dating that is geared towards the gaming community.  Think of dating as another quest!

Quirk Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can find a copy at your local bookstore now.

I'm no geek or gamer, but I found the logic and rational offered in this book realistic and full of good common sense.  There are five major sections.  They cover:  What Kind of Geek Are You?  How to Ask Someone Out.  Preparing for Your Date.  During the Date.  Exclusive Dating and Beyond.

You are given examples of things you can say and the author explains why some are good and some are bad.  The advice on how to dress for a date seems pretty basic but it's good advice.  The gaming references are amusing.

All in all, if you are scoring better online than off, you should read this book about practical dating in the real world.  It will help you round off any edges and feel comfortable when speaking to an actual person instead of an avatar.

Happy reading.
