Feline Charm by Kitty Wells

This is another in the Pocket Cats series.  How could you not like reading about miniature cats that come to life and help with problems?

David Fickling Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published so you can grab a copy now at your local bookstore.

I've been enjoying this series.  It's written for middle grades and Maddy learns a lesson in each story.  This time the tabby cat comes to life and he's not willing to tell her what his particular form of magic is...

Maddy and her best friend, Rachel, go to ballet together.  Rachel just can't relax when she does the routines.  She knows the technique perfectly, but her nervousness makes her look awkward.  Maddy wants to help her and, with the magic from her cat, she does.  But it doesn't turn out like she thought it would.  She loses the main position since Rachel dances beautifully now.  And she's jealous. Little 2" cats can be a big help but Maddy has learn to grow up herself.

This is fun series for girls.  The illustrations are small, just like the cats, and they help the reader envision the moment they are reading about.  This would make a nice read-aloud story, too.  You could discuss why Maddy feels the way she does and if what she does is right or not so right.  Life is all about decisions.  Maybe Maddy can help your child make the right decisions in the future.

Happy reading.
