Out of This World by Amy E Sklansky
Here is a way to teach your child about planets, stars, rockets, moon landings, satellites and more. It's done with poems that are cute and make absorbing facts much more palatable.
Alfred A Knopf sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you). It has already been published, so you can find a copy at your local bookstore.
The illustrations done by Stacey Schuett give the book an "out-of-this world" feel. She really depicts the wideness of open space.
The poems are fun and tie in with the facts so the child will remember what he/she learned. This book would work great for day care, a classroom or home schooling. This is the kind of science I would have preferred during school!
Why not buy a copy of this book and go outside and show your child the stars like the big dipper or the waning moon? I'm sure they'll enjoy hearing about the "Vomit Comet", too.
