Corby Flood by Paul Stewart & Chris Riddell

This is a Far-Flung Adventure and that's probably an understatement.  Are you ready to go an unbelievable journey and meet strange characters?  OK, just be real careful around the clowns.

Random House Kids sent me this Yearling Adventure to read for review (thank you).  It has been published and you can find a copy at your local bookstore.

This is a fantastic adventure with extreme characters.  The story reminded me a bit of the Lemony Snicket series.  The children are daredevils, the adults aren't respected much and there's danger about.

Corby gets eaten by her bed (it closes up with her sitting on it), finds a hidden animal that sings sad songs, and ends up stranded on island because she stowed away in box to avoid the bad clowns.  What more could happen?  Quite a bit, actually.

You'll need to get a copy of the book to find out, though.  It's not boring, it is a bit silly and it all turns out OK in the end.  At least for most of them, the clowns might disagree.

Why not buy a copy now and let your young one take a silly adventure that is fun to read about?

Happy reading.
