Aladdin Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, sent me an egalley of this book for review (thank you). This is the second book in the Knightly Academy series and it will be available at the end of June.
This book has a bit of the same flavor as the Harry Potter books. The theme is different, but it is a school and there are hidden rooms and unknown plans underfoot. Henry has a few good friends and a female love interest.
The school administration has secrets and while Henry suspicions that war may be upcoming and some of the skills they are being taught this year may be in preparation for that possibility, there is no proof.
Henry and Adam get in trouble and attempt to redeem themselves, but they find themselves in even deeper trouble.
The story line is interesting and can stand up to scrutiny, you empathize with the characters who are really just trying to do the right thing so they will be made knights and you'll be surprised about some of what is disclosed this time. You'll also find yourself waiting to see when the next story about Henry is coming out. He's a very interesting character.
