Hank Tillman wants to be a Country and Western star. He sings old favorites and works on writing his own. He has one song that's quite successful. Then he braced by a couple of big boys who want him to give that song to their group, and to come to their big meeting to discuss it. He says no and he finds himself in a ditch with a gunshot wound...
Goddess Fish Promotions and the author shared a copy of this book with me for review (thank you). It has been published and you can get a copy now.
Red is hired to protect Hank. He drags him out of the ditch and the ambulance takes him to the hospital. Hank had hidden behind a stage curtain but that's where the men were that grabbed him.
The Blue Magnolias (similar to the Ku Klux Clan) don't take no for an answer. The two men who failed in their mission where sent down to Florida and told no to come back. But there is still a killer around.
The streets of the south are mean and you have to be to survive them. Red is ready for trouble and he gets it. The guys in the group don't like him.
I really enjoyed the ending. The killer has found Red and his wife and is threatening them both with his gun. But he gets a surprise...
