When an arch falls in the park, it takes a woman to her death. She wasn't supposed to be there but that was harsh punishment. Everybody assumes it was from the petrochemical blasting in the area. But Chuck finds evidence to prove that was not the cause. Then the evidence disappears. If that's not enough to ruin his vacation, his mother is in the area and wants to meet his wife and the grandchildren. He doesn't want to, but he does. It's as bad as he thought it would be and they leave quickly.
Torrey House Press and Edelweiss let me read this book for review (thank you). It will be published June 18th.
He's been estranged from his mother for years and it's easy to see why. Right now she's playing the part of a seer and messing up the local townfolk. She's always meddling and never does anything unless she gets something out of it.
There are more deaths and more challenges for Chuck and his family. He's trying to protect antique Indian art and he succeeds in that but the killer gets killed before he can be charged. His mother has contributed to his problems. She was manipulating people. She's just a general hazard. She's going to move on and everyone is relieved. I bet Chuck isn't going to visit again...
